Enhance the appearance of your smile with the San Marcos cosmetic dentist at AquaSprings Dental. Our dentists are trained to provide high-quality dental care that looks amazing. We offer several cosmetic dentistry services, including porcelain veneers, composite fillings, teeth whitening, porcelain crowns, and onlays.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are a quick way to dramatically change the appearance of your smile. Porcelain veneers, also known as shells, fit on the front of your tooth and can change your tooth's size, shape, and shade. A porcelain veneer is made by taking an impression of your teeth and sending the image to a lab. In the lab, they will design your veneers. When it arrives at AquaSprings Dental, we will invite you back to the office to try on the veneer. Then, once the veneer is ready to place, we will buff off the front part of your tooth. Buffing your tooth will make it easier for the veneer to stick. Lastly, we will bond the veneer to the tooth. Typically, patients receive four to six veneers on the top and bottom set of teeth for complete smile restoration. If you have one tooth that is discolored or misshapen, you can get a veneer on that tooth.

Teeth Whitening

At AquaSprings Dental, we offer in-office and at-home professional teeth whitening solutions. Our dentists do not recommend over-the-counter teeth whitening solutions because they are not as accurate as professional teeth whitening and, if misused, can cause tooth sensitivity. Our dentist will make you a custom teeth whitening tray for at-home teeth whitening. With this tray, you will place the teeth whitening gel in the tray and wear the tray for a set amount of time. Patients that want quick, impressive results may opt for in-office teeth whitening. In-office whitening can take between 30 and 45 minutes. In this procedure, your dentist places a teeth whitening gel on your teeth and lets it sit for 15 minutes before rinsing off. This procedure is repeated as needed. Your dentist can also use a blue light to speed up teeth whitening.

Porcelain Crowns

Patients that have misshapen or broken teeth can benefit from porcelain crowns. A porcelain crown is often called a cap because it sits on top of a tooth. To create a porcelain crown, your dentist will make an impression of your teeth and then send the image to a lab. Once the crown arrives in the office, your dentist will invite you back to try it on. Like the porcelain veneer procedure, your dentist will buff your tooth before placing the crown. Then, the crown is bonded onto the tooth. Unlike a porcelain veneer, a crown covers around the entire tooth, not only the front. Many patients love porcelain crowns because they appear and function naturally. Additionally, the porcelain material makes them durable and stain-resistant.

Onlays

If you have a broken portion of your tooth, but the remainder of the tooth is intact, you may be a candidate for an onlay. Teeth have grooves and ridges on the chewing surfaces. The pointy parts of the tooth's chewing surface are called a cusp. If one of the cusps is broken, we can repair it with an onlay. An onlay is less invasive and more affordable than covering the entire tooth with a porcelain crown. An inlay is made of composite resin or a tooth-colored filling. With an onlay, your tooth will appear and function almost like a natural tooth. Cosmetic dentistry can transform the appearance of your smile. At AquaSprings Dental, our dentists offer several cosmetic dentistry procedures, including inlays, porcelain crowns, teeth whitening, and porcelain veneers.
